Get the Look: Home Office

office.jpg

I recently gave my home office a makeover. It’s a tiny, shotgun space about five feet wide by twelve feet long. The paint color when we moved in was a neon green, which made me never want to go in there, especially to get work done. It was very uninspiring.

THIS is not my office, but it is definitely one I found that inspired my room’s transformation. Crisp white walls with a vintage wood desk and floating shelves make this the perfect small work space. The white really opens up the space, and it makes the vintage pieces pop. The floating shelves not only add necessary book storage but also make the room seem larger by utilizing the vertical space. My office is not quite large enough for a loveseat - you’ll have to see my before and after on Instagram to see the size - but I do love the look of this loveseat with fabric draped over it. It really adds to the relaxed, collected look, don’t you think?

I’ve rounded up some items, so you can also get the look in your home. Yes, I mixed aaallll the metals, and it is totally OK. If you use this as inspiration for your project, post a photo to Instagram and tag me (@rachelinteriors)! I would love to see your design.

XO,
Rachel
