Wes Gordon
Did you always know what you wanted to be when you grew up? It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do as a career. I didn’t find my path to design until I was 23, two years after I graduated college with an English degree. I am now 33 and still working towards achieving “success” as a prop stylist, which for me, for now, means financial security. I am so thankful for where I am. This year was my first year as a freelance prop stylist, and it was a pretty good year! I look forward to what 2019 has in store for me and my business.
And then there are people like Wes Gordon. A 31-year-old fashion designer FULL of talent with LOADS of success. He seems like the kind of person who always knew what he wanted to do. I can imagine him as a 7-year-old sewing clothes for himself. This is all my assumptions of course. I know Wes interned for Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford right out of college in 2009 - which means he was only 22 at the time! - and launched his own women’s wear line that same year! He must have known early on he wanted to go into the fashion industry. At 31, he is now the Creative Director at Carolina Herrera. Wow. Just WOW. So much talent, hard work and determination, and SO MANY GOOD CLOTHES. Follow him on Instagram, and be inspired.
XOXO,
Rachel
