This Wild Idea
In college, I took a documentary class, and one of the projects I worked on was creating a compilation of people's travel stories. My travels have always changed something about me in some way or another, so I wanted to hear other people's travel experiences. Theron Humphrey came up with a similar project but is using photographs to document his work. Also, instead of others traveling then telling him their stories, Theron is traveling around the U.S. connecting with folks to hear their stories.
"I'm going meet 1 new person a day, everyday, for 365 days. The goal is to makes images that age well and increase in value over time; images that will become part of your family story, which we can pass on to the next generation...This project is a new look at social media; it's not about self-promotion, it's about everyone in America having an opportunity to connect to the project and shape its direction."
