welcome to our home

Jillian and I moved into a cute, little bungalow last November, and I am finally getting around to telling you about it! It is the most adorable house you've ever seen with a full basement and full attic, large front and backyards, original wood floors, and a sweet retro kitchen. We love it! Jillian and I are both artists, so, of course, our house is full of artwork (both our own and our friends). Our styles fit nicely together creating a mid-century modern meets bohemian style meets rustic farmhouse. Maybe? Ha.

See more photos of the living room, breakfast area, and kitchen after the jump. I'll save my bedroom for a future post...

Jillian's beautiful charcoal drawing sets the stage for our gray, red, and white living room. A mix of Oly Studio upholstery, Ikea accessories, Duvall Designs coffee table (Jillian's dad is the craftsman behind this great piece!), and other random finds complete the room.

Yes, we've stuffed our fireplace with books, books, and more books! And yes, you can still pull them out to read them. The Ikea Knappa Pendant hangs from found branches making a corner standing lamp.

Natural elements such as shells, stones, gems, rocks, wood, and house plants are strung throughout the house.

Jillian's antique dresser adds extra counter and storage space in the kitchen, and hanging pot racks are always a good space-saver. Craigslist finds include the mid-century chairs (They were white, and I stripped them down to the original wood finish. Only $80 for the set of four!), the Ikea Docksta Dining Table, and the red antique Chinese cabinet (only $75!), which we made into a dry bar.

Thanks for visiting our humble abode! Come again!
